Sheldon (played by Rockmond Dunbar, of Prison Break and Soul Food fame), is a high-flying gay New York journalist who finds out he has a child and returns reluctantly to small-town Georgia to face the music. Home is difficult: son Gabriel is now 10, his stripper mother dead in a freak bus accident involving barbecue sauce, a grilled spare rib and a stray deer; and Sheldon’s mother (the irresistible Loretta Divine) is a frankly challenging woman. Also in the house are his doormat sister, her larger than life daughter Pudge and a thicker than gravy brother. Into the mix is thrown a buff, camp white guy from the Big Apple suggesting a very interesting relationship with Sheldon who does more than just upset the applecart…
