Jacaranda Sunrise, Dir: Beverley Gurwicz, South Africa 2008 12min
A short ‘n’ sweet, fresh view of Jozi street life and a curious friendship. A former driver in more prosperous times, Jerry now spends his days on his corner, watching the cars and looking out for sex worker Bongani and recording the names of his clients. Despite Bongani taking care of his ‘manager’, Jerry knows that the street can be a dangerous place, and his days are numbered. Gurwicz will present her film in Jozi. Precedes NOAH’S ARC.
