Calculate your carbon footprint

Reduce your carbon footprint

Have you ever wondered what your carbon footprint is? Check out www.carbonfootprint.com and try the various online calculators for categories such as Car/Flights/House/etc. My old 1991 Toyota Conquest’s annual footprint, for example, is around 1.2 tonnes of CO2 (driving about 6,000km per year), and a single return-trip from Cape Town to Durban produces as much as 6 months worth of driving for me. As an aside, David Beckham is believed to have the largest carbon footprint ever. He owns 15 cars, including a Hummer and a Porsche, and logged over 400 000km flying to and fro for last year’s European Championship qualifiers. Not cool!
