Giving up chocolate?
Are you a chocoholic? Have you vowed to give it up for 2009? Well, you may not have to go completely cold turkey. Research shows that certain chocolates can be good for your health, particularly your heart.
Go for dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa) over milk or white chocolate. Dark chocolate has a higher concentration of cocoa, which helps lower your blood pressure, keep your heart and cardiac blood vessels healthy, and reduces your risk of blood clots (and hence strokes and heart attacks). Try to limit your intake to two blocks (10g) — don’t scoff the whole bar.
