Soccer Fever @ Cafe Manhattan

Cafe Manhattan Green Point is a dear spot to many – I’ll not deny that. It welcomes individuality and has a charm that oozes from the ever welcoming staff to the scrumptious snacks all the way to the sumptuous burgers.

The 2010 soccer fever has landed on the menu of one of the longest running restaurants in De Waterkant area, Cape Town’s gay district. A burger in our home boys’ honour is my recommendation. The Bafana Burger is simply South African, leaves your mouth watering for more, and does a thorough job in occupying tummy space, so not much dieting going on over this season. A Bafana Bafana Meal is also on the menu, featuring A grade South African sausage and a succulent lamb chop laid on a bed of mashed potato, with a side of leafy green spinach and chakalaka sauce. The best part, of course, is that this establishment is both kosher and halaal.

Other team burgers on the menu are celebrating the French, Korean, English and Cameroonian teams, among others. This ensures that you can enjoy your team’s burger whilst you watch the game by the bar stools and tables, or simply enjoy them whilst dining in the restaurant area. I will probably sit outside to hear the clear sound of the world’s largest Vuvuzela, and roars from the stadium, both of which are very close to Cafe Manhattan.

Till the next venue, take care and be good, x.
